Live Active. Win Tuition

Live active, win tuition. UBC Students can win up to $500 in tuition credits just for being active.

All you have to do is take part in any of the free drop in programs offered by UBC Recreation to be entered into a draw for tuition credits. Pretty simple, right?

How do I enter?

Present your UBC Student card to the staff when you sign in for the activity of your choice to be entered in the draw.
Eligible activities are:

  • Basketball, volleyball, badminton, indoor cricket, handball, and futsal at the Student Recreation Centre.
  • Drop in swims at the Aquatic Centre
  • Public skate at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Center
  • UBC Recreation Rexercise programs

When are the contest periods and how many draws are there?

We will be giving away a total of $1500 in tuition credits to three different UBC students. There are 3 draws:

  • 1st draw for $250: September 1 – 30. Draw date: October 2nd
  • 2nd draw for $250: October 1 – 31. Draw date: November 4th
  • 3rd draw for $250: November 1 – 30. Draw date: December 3rd
  • Grand Prize Draw for $500: September 1 – November 30. Draw date: December 3rd

What is the fine print?

All contests have to have some rules and we tried to make ours as simple as possible:

  • Participate in at least TWO eligible free drop in programs within a contest period
  • Present your UBC Student card at the facilities of your choice when you sign in
  • Each swipe equals one entry into the draw
  • Entries don’t carry over for the monthly draws
  • The Grand Prize Draw is term long and all entries from September to December are eligible
  • Maximum 4 swipes per day

How will the winners be notified and how do I collect my prize?

  • Contest winners will be announced online through social media and on the UBC Recreation website
  • Winners must contact within one week to confirm their acceptance
  • Failure to do so will result in a re-draw
  • Tuition credits will be applied to winners’ UBC account for the Winter 2014 term
