Equipment is available for free and access to showers and lockers is available on site in the Student Recreation Centre. Check out the full schedule of drop in sports and begin living actively today!

Drop in skating

For UBC students, drop in skates is a great opportunity to take to the ice. All public skate sessions at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre are free for UBC students. Public skate sessions are available on most days and skates can be rented from the proshop.

Drop-in swimming

UBC students enjoy free access to any of the public swim  times offered at the Aquatic Centre. Choose from morning 50m length swims, open swim times, and women’s only swims.

*NEW* Swim lessons

For those with little or no swimming experience, UBC Recreation is offering free introductory adult swim lessons. These 3 session swim lessons run throughout the fall.
