How do you find success on campus? How do you feel good? UBC Recreation wants to help you discover the many ways that you can live a healthy and active life that will enrich your campus experience. October and November are full of great events, drop-in programs, and more.
From Oct 14 to Nov 29, UBC Recreation is offering free Feel Good Fitness activities. From free drop-in events like handball to a Halloween skate, there are so many ways to participate!  Fill in a note of inspiration and bring it along with your student or staff/faculty card to participate for free. Free programs and groups eligible for these activities are listed below.

Cycle Fit Class: October 15 & 17 Free for UBC Students 
Enjoy a free  Cycle Fit class during our 5:00pm sessions on Tuesday and Thursday. Limited to 7 people or as space permits.
Free Classes @ Ponderosa Open House: October 16-22 Free for everyone
From October 16 to 22, enjoy a week of free classes and experience for yourself the new facilities at the Ponderosa Commons! Our new facilities boast floor to ceiling windows, with complete washroom and shower areas hosting up more than 20 classes a week.
Handball: October 18 Free for UBC Students and UBC Staff/Faculty
This drop in event takes place from 5-7pm and is free for UBC students! This fast paced game is one of the oldest in the world. No team or experience is necessary. Check out the regular drop in schedule for more sports action.
Gutterball Bowling: October 20
Strike gold in this 10-pin bowling tournament at Commodore Lanes! What better way to spend a relaxing Sunday evening than with good company and competition? Registration ends October 15.

Volleyball: October 22 Free for UBC Students
Come to drop-in volleyball during your breaks! From 7am-2pm every Tuesday and Thursday, get your wristband at the SRC and play to your heart's content. It's completely free for students and staff/faculty. For all others it's only $5.50. If you feel like playing badminton or basketball, there are drop in times for those as well!
Cycle Fit Class: October 23 & 25 Free for UBC Students 
Enjoy a free  Cycle Fit class during our 12:15pm sessions on Wednesday and Friday. Limited to 7 people or as space permits.
Karma Yoga: October 25 Free for UBC Students
The popular Karma yoga event is back at the SRC Oct 25. All are invited to partake in this yoga practice that benefits the UBC Food Bank. Bring a canned food item to the lesson and your class is only $3. Benefit your body and the community! These practices occur every Wednesday and Friday.
Great Trek 10kM Run and Relay: October 26
Relive history as you run the route which led to the building of the UBC Point Grey campus. Take part as an individual or a team of four running a 2.5km relay each. All skill levels are welcome! Registration ends October 21.

Lace Up for Kids Fundraiser #1: Coin Wars
This student driven fundraiser for BC Children's Hospital Foundation in support of Rare Disease Research culminates in a skating event November 21. Donate to our fundraiser, or participate as an individual or team to raise money for this worth cause. More information to come!
Basketball: October 28 Free for UBC students and UBC Staff/Faculty
A staple of recreation programming at UBC, drop in basketball is scheduled everyday of the week. Play from morning until evening at the SRC gym with friends and others with similar interests! Drop in is free to UBC students and only $5.50 for all others.

Halloween Public Skating: October 31 Free for UBC students
Come and skate if you  dare! We are hosting a special Halloween skating party from 3:45-6:30pm on October 31. Anyone dressed in a costume gets free skate rentals! And as always, UBC students skate for free!
Howl at the Moon Volleyball: November 1
Pulling all nighters have never been so fun! It's not too late to join this Reverse 4's format volleyball tournament that will last until the wee hours of the morning. It's perfect for night owls! Register with your team by October 28.

Come to our booth during UBC's Thrive week to learn about mental and physical wellness and how it affects your academic success.

Water Wars : November 7
Escape rainy Vancouver to the Aquatic Centre for a night of aquatic warfare! Enlist your team of 6-10 to compete in wild and wacky water challenges including the ever popular inflatable obstacle course. Registration ends November 4.
UBC's Largest Zumba Class : November 8 Free for everyone
Exercise with us at UBC's largest zumba class! Rexercise events are free for everybody: no registration is needed, just drop in and participate! Find us at the SRC gym from 12pm-12:45pm. A quick, easy, and fun way to spend your lunch fitness break.
Indoor Lacrosse : November 8 Free for UBC Students and UBC Staff/Faculty
Indoor lacrosse is one of the three sports offered in the SRC drop in events calendar, along with handball and indoor cricket. Test your reflexes and experience our national sport first hand. No experience is necessary! Bring your enthusiasm and your student card for free access to this drop in event. For all others, a $5.50 fee applies.

Futsal : November 13 Free for UBC Students and UBC Staff/Faculty
Join this very popular drop sport at the SRC! Futsal runs every Wednesday from 5-11pm, which is plenty of time to break a sweat. Participation is based on a lottery process for three different time slots: 5pm–6:45pm,7pm-8:45pm and 9pm-10:45pm. Public drop in rate is $5.50.
Swimming : November 15 Free for UBC students
For a great cardiovascular exercise that is low impact on the body, look no further than the Aquatic Centre! Drop in times for public swim vary according to the day of the week. Dive in during drop in!

Lace Up for Kids : November 21
This student driven fundraiser culminates in a public skate party at the Thunderbird Arena. Skate laps and raise money for Rare Disease Research. Have a very real impact on your community and bond with your fellow students! Register as a team or individual by November 15.
Indoor Cricket : November 22 Free for UBC Students and UBC Staff/Faculty
Come to the SRC and learn how to play the most popular international sport in the world! No equipment or experience is required – just stop by and we will teach you how to play. This drop in event is free for UBC students. For all others, a $5.50 drop in fee applies.

Recess Games : November 26 Free for UBC Students and UBC Staff/Faculty
Relive your elementary school days by playing recess games Nov 26 at 12:45pm on Main Mall! Will you be the rock, paper, scissors champion of UBC REC? Rexercise events are free for everybody, all you need to do is participate!
Badminton : November 29 Free for UBC Students and UBC Staff/Faculty
As exams near, don't forget to keep exercise in your daily routine and come to SRC's daily badminton drop in! Drop in times vary daily. If you forget your raquet, you can always borrow one of ours! Play with friends or other badminton enthusiasts. Drop in rate for the public is $5.50.
