Outstanding individual performances continued in the slalom races at Bogus Basin this weekend, with Cameron Hale winning his second race of the season! On Saturday, Hale flew past the competition with times of 39.68 (1st) and 39.89 (2nd) to take the top of the podium at the end of the day. His streak was interrupted by a DNF in the first run on Sunday, leaving him out of the running that day. Jackson Hamersley, the only other male racer from UBC, carried the men’s team to a 7th place finish, ahead of the University of Puget Sound team.

The women’s team showed great results, sweeping the rankings on Saturday with Jordan Fitzgerald (4th), Lauren Hale (5th), Michele Warner (6th), and Katherine Greer (7th) leading the team. Jen Boughner (11th) and Molly Voltz (12th) also came through with strong results, earning the women second place overall. On Sunday, outstanding performances by Jordan Fitzgerald (2nd) and Michele Warner (3rd)  led the women’s team to a 3rd place finish, behind the College of Idaho and University of Washington teams.

This race marked the last of the regional qualifiers for this season. The SkiBirds head back to Idaho to race in Brundage Mountain Resort for the USCSA Western Regional Championship races, happening February 23-25. Stay tuned for more results from the team on our website and in the newsletter!
