UBC Cycling: Western Washington Recap

This weekend the UBC TSC Cycling Team got a break from long drives and traffic with their closest race on the schedule hosted by the WWU Cycling Team down in Bellingham, Washington. The UBC team seemed cursed this weekend by flats (pretty sure the count was into double digits by the end of the weekend!) and mechanical mayhem, but fought through it and worked great as a team to get everyone to the start line. Riders endured some brutal weather Saturday with rain and temperatures hovering just above freezing, but were luckily met with some more pleasant conditions on Sunday for the crit. With 21 UBC riders attending this weekend, the list of results would require the publication of a book, so we will refer you to the following links to check out all the stellar results:

Team Time Trial:

Special shoutout to Emily Suchy for her win in the Women’s B road race, Charles Collin for his win in the Men’s D road race and Sean Henry for his 3rd place finish in the Men’s A road race.

As always, thanks to everyone supporting the UBC Cycling team as well as WWU Cycling Team and the officials for hosting this weekend’s race. Huge shout out to Olivia our program director for coming to watch us as well!!! And thanks for an awesome new crit course this year WWU!! #earlymornings#noboarderline #downtowncritsrule #hypothermia #quietplace #flattire#frozenfingers #burritos
