MARILYN POMFRET INTRAMURAL ALUMNI AWARD
TERMS OF REFERENCE
Purpose of the Award
- To acknowledge and recognize the accomplishments of those who served as volunteer in the UBC Intramural and Recreation Program.
- To celebrate the ongoing contributions made by these volunteers be it in their careers or through their community service.
- To profile the accomplishments of these alumni.
- To forge a stronger connection between past and current students.
- To connect UBC alumni with the UBC community and the larger off campus communities.
Qualification for Nomination
Nominations are open for the selection of the 2019 Marilyn Pomfret Award Recipient.
Expertise and Accomplishments
UBC Involvement
- Previously enrolled as a student at The University of British Columbia
- Served as a volunteer in the UBC Intramural and Recreation Program for a period of at least two years.
- Demonstrated outstanding characteristics in one or more of the following: a confident and dynamic leader: willing and caring mentor, creative innovator and/or dedicated and sound administrator.
Career Accomplishment
- Outstanding accomplishments in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors
- Demonstrated excellence beyond the norm in a chosen field of endeavour.
- Ongoing and positive impact not only on the chosen field but on the lives of the people contained therein.
Community Service
- The nominee has made a significant contribution to the community be it local, national or international as a volunteer and over a sustained period of time.
- Has enriched the lives of others through a generous commitment of time, talent and resources.
