This past weekend UBC Thunderbirds Men’s Ultimate SC travelled a long 9-hour drive down to Corvallis, Oregon, to compete at Sectionals. After two long days, playing 5 games against rivals such as the University of Washington and the University of Victoria, the Thunderbirds finished the tournament with 61 goals for and 47 goals against, securing their spotat the regional qualifiers at the end of the month. Throughout the season, the team faced many challenges and many players experienced knee injuries. However, with strong team leaders and a committed mindset, the team came together and performed when needed. Thanks to the help of coach Norris and assistant coach Eyrich, UBC Men’s Ultimate has grown and learned a lot throughout the season. With Regionals right around the corner, the team will continue to train both mentally and physically to compete at their best. In order to qualify for Nationals in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the team will have to place in the top 3 at Regionals. Stay tuned for updates on the team and follow us on our social media accounts.
