UBC to host big names during 2018 Zajac Jr Int'l

The 55th edition of the Mel Zajac Jr. International Swim Meet will be hosted at the UBC Aquatic Centre June 1 – 3, 2018.  The event serves as the first leg of the West Coast Open Series.
UBC Varsity Swimming Programs together with Vancouver Pacific Swim Club (VPSC) are co-hosts of the event along with the UBC Aquatic Centre.  Top swimmers from across BC and the Pacific Northwest Swimmers will be joined by 4-time Olympic medallist Penny Oleksiak (CAN), 12-time Olympic medallist Ryan Lochte and 2-time Olympic medallist Caeleb Dressel as well as those Olympians and national team athletes that are part of High Performance Centre – Vancouver.
The Mel Zajac Jr. International Swim Meet has a rich history on the international sport calendar and is growing in popularity after several quiet years. The Zajac Family, has, through the Zajac Foundation, been long-time supporters of this event. The other events of the West Coast Open Series are:

  • June 7-10:  TYR Pro Swim Series – Santa Clara, CA
  • June 21-24: Fran Crippen Swim Meet of Champions – Mission Viejo, CA
