UPDATE: Sewer pipe repaired / water temperatures back to normal

(UPDATE as of 11AM – Thursday November 1)  The sewer pipe issue identified yesterday has been successfully repaired. Do note, as a result of the work conducted yesterday there was an inability to maintain water temperatures within the tanks at optimal levels – upon opening this morning temperatures were below normal levels. Water temperatures at the UBC Aquatic Centre returned to normal operating levels by 10:45am.

Oct. 31 9AM:  NOTICE: Sewer Pipe Under Repair)Patrons of the UBC Aquatic Centre are to be advised that a sewer pipe from the facility broke overnight.  Workers from UBC Building Operations were quick to identify the issue and respond.  Crews are on-site now and facility staff are monitoring the situation.
There are no impacts to facility operations as of posting this message (9AM), however updates will be provided as they become available.
