Jeremy | Faces of Recreation

Jeremy is an undergraduate student at UBC.

“My passion for sport and commitment to staying active gravitated me towards the wide variety of organized sports that UBC Recreation has to offer.”

Jeremy has participated in the UBC Intramural League and drop-in sports since his very first year at UBC. Jeremy has been a part of Co-Rec Basketball, Co-Rec Volleyball, floor hockey, and many more leagues. Playing in Intramurals has helped Jeremy become closer to his friends and maintain an active lifestyle.

Jeremy’s Top Picks

UBC Intramural Leagues

“Intramural sports are well organized and you can register in different tiers that matches your skill level which makes the games competitive most of the time. It is also a great way to be more involved on campus and strengthens the community of friends that you play with.”

The UBC Intramural League is a great way to meet new people and build friendships. There are a variety of different Leagues from Basketball and Soccer to  Dodgeball. You can choose your competition category from Just for Fun to higher tiers of competitive play. If you do not have as much experience in a certain sport, you can join a Just for Fun team and play in a fun, supportive environment. Likewise, if you’re someone seeking a highly competitive environment, there are three different tiers for you. If you register with your faculty, you can have your team fees paid for.

Drop-in Sports

“I use the SRC gyms for drop-in basketball. I enjoy how you can drop in during the day in between classes and play some games. I find it to be a great way to reenergize yourself especially if you have a long day!”

Drop-in sports are a great way to meet up with friends during a break. These sessions include equipment rentals with a piece of ID and there are different sports to try. Jeremy’s personal favourite is basketball, but there’s also Volleyball, Badminton, Quidditch, Lacrosse, and many more. Drop-in sports is free for all UBC Students too!
