Why is your swim time so important?

Providing us with an accurate swim time is integral to ensuring you achieve your personal best! Because this triathlon has an indoor swim, we divide you into heats based on your swim time. We want to avoid the amount of passing that occurs in lanes. It’s not fun getting stuck behind a pack of swimmers slower than you!

Don’t know your swim time? No problem.

The next time you’re training in the pool, time yourself and do a leisure 100m. Then multiply that time by how many metres you have to do. If you are doing the Olympic Distance, you will multiply by 15. If you are doing a Sprint Distance, you will multiply by 7. If you are doing the Short Distance, you will multiply by 5.

When you arrive at the pool on race day, arrange yourself within your heat based on fastest to slowest swimmer. Believe in yourself! Most people tend to swim faster on race day, so don’t doubt your time!
