UBC Equestrian’s second show of the season, hosted by Willamette University in Aurora, Oregon, saw strong results from all of our riders, earning UBC the Reserve High Point Team award on day two of the competition. The team’s newest rider, Yuanyuan Zhou, debuted in her first ever equestrian competition with two 3rd place ribbons in the walk-trot division. Fourth-year rider Katie Donohoe (who advanced to the Open on the flat division at our last show) also debuted in her first Open classes, earning 4th and 5th place ribbons on the flat in addition to a 5th place ribbon in the Intermediate over fences division. Open rider Hanna-Krista Norris placed 4th over fences and 3rd and 6th on the flat, while Intermediate rider Lea Anderson placed 1st over fences and 2nd on the flat and Intermediate rider Tiana Perry placed 2nd on the flat. Novice riders Olivia Godfrey and Jasmine Taylor also saw competitive results, with Olivia earning two 3rd place ribbons over fences and 1st and 6th on the flat, and Jasmine earning 4th and 6th over fences and 2nd and 4th on the flat. On day one of the competition, Olivia was also awarded Reserve High Point Rider! Walk-trot-canter riders Ana Pozas, Megan Ross, and Shawna Turner also returned with great success, with Ana placing 3rd and 4th, Megan placing 2nd and 3rd, and Shawna placing 1st and 2nd.
Congratulations to all of our riders on both their individual successes and for making UBC Equestrian Reserve High Point Team! Thank you to Willamette University as well as our volunteers and donors for another great show. Stay tuned for results from today’s show hosted by the University of Washington!
