UBC Equestrian’s final competition of the regular season was held by the University of Washington in Monroe, Washington, on February 23rd. All of our team members rode very competitively, with teammates Jasmine Taylor and Tiana Perry earning both the High Point Rider and Reserve High Point Rider awards, respectively. Congratulations Jasmine and Tiana! Walk-trot-canter (WTC) riders Ana Pozas and Shawna Turner both completed successful seasons, with Ana placing 6th and Shawna placing 4th in their divisions. WTC rider Megan Ross also saw success, placing 3rd in her first round of the day to qualify for Regional Championships in the afternoon, where she placed 6th. Intermediate/Open rider Katie Donohoe, in addition to placing 5th in the Open on the flat division, also qualified for the Intermediate on the flat division at the IHSA Zone 8 Finals, to be held at Stanford University in California on April 6th, 2019. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to cheer Katie on!
Thank you to the UW Equestrian Team for hosting another great show at such a beautiful venue and to the donors and volunteers who provided wonderful horses and helped the show run smoothly. Finally, we would like to congratulate our graduating riders Lea Anderson, Katie Donohoe, Ana Pozas, and Megan Ross! Thank you for the years of hard work and horsemanship, and for your roles in getting our team where it is today. We wish you success and hope to see you riding soon!
