Welcome to the 2019/2020 UBC Ski Team Season! We are very excited to be starting a new year with many returning athletes and many new recruits! Our summers have been busy with varying activities amongst the team from travelling to summer school and visits home for many of our athletes from a far! Our first executive meeting took place last week with team members calling in from 4 different time zones! Lots of fun ideas and activities were planned for the upcoming season. Our two club leads for this year, Jake Klonsky and Anastasia Kiku, are staying abroad on exchange first semester, Jake in Christchurch and Anastasia in Copenhagen and will be back to join us in time for our January training camp. The rest of the executive team for this season is as follows; Lauren Hale and Maija Wootton – Marketing and Communications, Max Duso and Oscar Schemmann – Travel and Safety and Mélanie Magerstädt – Finance. Michele Warner, our club lead from last year, will also be helping out first semester with the transition! We hope you’re as excited as we are.

We are also thrilled to announce that our team downhill suits have arrived! We will be starting out the 2020 season looking fresh and united! Stoke level HIGH!
Next week we kick off the school year with the annual UBC Imagine Day! Imagine Day is orientation day for incoming first year students and an opportunity for all of campus clubs (like us!) and organizations to provide information to interested people! So, come say hi! We will be located along Main Mall with all of the other (cool, awesome) Thunderbird Sports Clubs! We’ve gained some of our favourite athletes from our Imagine Day booth so don’t be shy! Come ask questions, send friends, take photos! We may just have a couple of those new suits to show off…
