The 2019-2020 ski season is kicking off in full force! The executives running the show this year are:
- Alison Pouw – MarComm Exec
- Claire Grall – Finance Officer
- Madi Brown – Travel and Safety Exec
- Mykal Bakker-Westeinde – Club Lead
- Wassim Ghazi – Sponsorship Exec
2019-2020 Executives (Not including Wassim)
On top of the executives, we have many returning members and space for more keen skiers. We started recruiting in September at the Graduate recruiting fair and at Imagine day. There were many individuals showing interest in the team. Individuals ranged from those with some ski experience to individuals who have been skiing their entire lives. We’re excited to build a diverse and fun team that is involved in the local ski community.
Imagine Day Recruiting 2019
We will be starting practices Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays starting Thursday, September 11th. Members of the team often arrange group training sessions outside of practice times to maintain their fitness on days off. Some off-day training regimes often consist of runs through Pacific Spirit Park, climbing in the Aviary, swimming or pool running in The UBC Aquatics centre, or hitting the Bird Coop for some gainz.
Things to look forward to in the upcoming weeks include:
- Whistler training camp with Hollyburn – September 14thand 15th
- Games night with the Cycling team – September 18th
- Track night with the Alpine Ski team – September 27th
- Classy snacks night – TBD
