“I chose the UBC Performance Swim Camp because I wanted to learn more advanced techniques so I can be better at swim club. I have heard that UBC Thunderbirds have a really good swim team, and I’ve only done the camp once, but I wanted to come back because the coaches paid attention to me and I felt they were really trying to help me.”

Isabella is an active member of UBC Recreation and has participated in a variety of camps for the past 5 years including gymnastics, tennis and swim lessons. Isabella participated in the UBC Performance Swim Camp during Spring Break, and found the program to be an inspiring swim camp for young competitive swimmers. Each day she learned new techniques and was always eager to return the next morning.

UBC Performance Swim Camp

“Coleman and Maia were excellent coaches and I could see that they were really invested in making me a better swimmer. The coaches paid attention to me and put a lot of effort into helping me. I didn’t feel like I was just doing laps with no one watching. Overall I am really happy that I signed up.”

UBC Performance Swim Camp will include all facets of stroke mechanics and drills for all strokes, dives, starts and turns. The camp will focus on the technical aspects of strokes, training, and physical conditioning. The different strokes will be reviewed, analyzed and corrective feedback will be provided throughout the week. Competitive swimmers will leave UBC Performance Swim Camp having refined their technique, learned new skills and feeling good about their approach to performance training.
