A New Season for UBC Thunderbirds Lacrosse SC

September was a busy month for the UBC Thunderbirds Lacrosse SC. The season began a week earlier than usual as the team kicked off their first game a week earlier than usual on September 14th against the Vancouver Barbarians. The Thunderbirds were able to secure their first win of the season beating the Barbarians 11-2 which has lead to the thunderbirds carrying a record of 2 wins and 2 loses in the CWFLL season so far. The Thunderbirds were able to secure their other win against the Abbotsford Attack with a score of 11-8.

On September 29th the Thunderbirds took on the SFU Clan and suffered a tough 11-1 loss against the Clan but it was a hard fought game by both teams.

Mason Pomeroy currently leads the team in goals with a total of 11 goals in 5 games this season. Followed by Kurtis Shum and Ryan Wilkinson who are tied for 6 goals and Jared Pozzobon with 5 goals.

After a 2 week break, the Thunderbirds hope to improve their record to 3-2 as they have an upcoming game against the Coquitlam Adanacs on October 26th, 2019 at Charles Best Secondary.
