A lot has happened within the UBC Men’s Tennis team from the start of the school year back in September!
In early September, the team hosted two rounds of rigorous tryouts, in order to determine who our newest roster additions would be. In the end, 4 phenomenal players became a part of the UBC Men’s Tennis team for the 2019/2020 season. We’d like to welcome the following; Victor Miglo – a first year PhD student in Finance at the Sauder School of Business, Raj Parekh – a first year student at the Faculty of Arts, Graeme McIntosh – a first year student at the Faculty of Science, and David Zoric – a first year student at the Sauder School of Business. All 4 of these individuals showcased excellent technique, game sense, and sportsmanship, ultimately leading us to extend offers. We’re extremely excited to see how these players slot into the roster, and the results they have in the upcoming competition season!
On October 18th we kicked off the Friday with another one of our annual UBC TSC Tennis Mixer events! With exciting prizes, match-play, games, and plenty of snacks and refreshments, its no surprise this one was our best one yet. We’d love to thank everyone who bought tickets, and came out! Not only does the mixer help fund our competition season, but it provides us with an excellent opportunity to meet and interact with individuals within our tight-knit tennis community. Thank you!
While the Mixer was plenty of fun, the team is back to rigorous training regime – preparing for the upcoming competition season. We’re kicking it all off this Saturday, November 9th at the UBC Tennis Centre!
