A successful start to the TSC Equestrian’s season at Washington State University show

The UBC TSC Equestrian Team is back from a successful first show of the season. Ten of the team’s riders and the team coach traveled to Spokane, WA this past weekend for a two-day show hosted by Washington State University.

Returning open rider Hanna Norris placed 2nd on the flat Saturday. One of the team’s new riders, Fatima Tavera, also competed in open and placed 6th both on the flat and over fences. In the intermediate division, Eleanor Walton-Knight placed 5th and 3rd on the flat, and 4th over fences. Novice riders Jasmine Taylor, Olivia Godfrey, and Amy Perna also saw fantastic results, with Jasmine placing 1st and 6th on the flat and 5th and 6th over fences, Olivia bringing home a 2nd and 5th over fences, and Amy earning 2nd and 5th on the flat. In the walk-trot-canter division, Sage Huston placed 5th, and Tessa Wiehr was awarded 4th and 2nd. Finally, in walk-trot, Natalie Zhou brought home 5th both days.

The team welcomed eight new athletes this year, as well as a new executive team. We are once again training out of Riverside Equestrian Centre in Richmond and are happy to have Natalie Nahirney back as the team coach.

Congratulations to all our riders on a great start to the season! And thank you to Washington State University for hosting an amazing show. We are happy to be back and looking forward to our upcoming competitions in the new year. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated on the team’s success!
