League Feature of the Week: The Muffin Men

This week, we’re interviewing Cameron Lee to find out more about his team The Muffin Men and what he loves about Dodgeball!

1. Tell us about yourself!

My name is Cameron Lee, I’m in my second year in the School of Kinesiology, and I’m in interdisciplinary studies.

2. Tell us three fun facts about yourself!

I am the athletic trainer for UBC Rugby, I enjoy running long distances, and I eat a bowl of ice cream every other day

3. Why did you join leagues, specifically Dodgeball?

I used to play a lot of competitive sports back in high school and I wanted to carry that love over to university. However, varsity team sports are too intense for me to join especially while I am studying and balancing other extracurricular. REC leagues are perfect for me to still participate in sports with my friends in a friendly setting that’s based on respect, but it also incorporates a competitive aspect into the game still which I enjoy.

4. How did you come up with your team name?

We are the Muffin Men because we throw muffins! Light, fluffy, delectable treats for the other team to eat up, in other words, soft throws they can catch. (disclaimer: we are joking. muffins are never thrown, ever.)

5. What are you hoping to gain out of leagues?

New friends within the sports community, a fun outlet to de-stress from school and work, and a way for me to maintain my daily physical activity.
