UBC Cycling Team’s 2020 Head Coach and Sponsors

Get to know our 2020 coach and sponsors!

We are very excited to officially announce our head coach and sponsors for the 2020 race season. Method Indoor Cycling and the UBC Bike Kitchen will return as team sponsors and Ben Chaddock will join the team as our new head coach.

Sponsors:

Method Indoor Cycling is a Vancouver based cycling studio that aims to develop and grow cyclists through intense indoor workouts. This is Method’s second year sponsoring our team. We are very thankful to have them as a sponsor as they allow us to train indoors throughout the winter months.
Current team member, Fiona Majendie and past UBC cycling athlete, Declan Kelly, lead the team through spin workouts twice a week. Our sponsorship with Method Cycling had a significant impact on our first place conference finish last season. We are looking forward to see how our athletes perform with the help of Method this race season.

The Bike Kitchen is located on campus and serves as a repair centre and an educational resource. We are very thankful to have them as a sponsor for a fifth year as they provide us with a place to repair and tune our bikes.

Head Coach:

Our head coach for this upcoming race season is Ben Chaddock! Ben started cycling in college by joining his collegiate team at Whitman College. After college, Ben raced professionally in North America for four years. In 2012, he won the Canadian Criterium championship title.

After retiring from cycling professionally, Ben has worked with Cycling BC by aiming to inspire and promote the sport of cycling to the younger generations. We are very excited to have Ben share his experience of collegiate racing with us and serve as our head coach this season!
