Westerns were held in Callaghan Valley, at The Whistler Olympic Park. We had 16 athletes compete over 3 days in a Skate Sprint, an Interval Start Classic and a Mass Start Skate.
Michael Murdoch Taking Second in the Skate Sprint
Top finishers on the sprit day included Claire Grall and Michael Murdoch, both finishing second in their respective categories. Shout out to the cheer squad, Katia Lumb, Fiona Schute and Wassim Ghazi for their support and encouragement throughout the day!
In the Interval Start 15km Classic Michael Murdoch took home another silver! UBC had 5 more top 10 finishes from Katia Lumb, Rachel Bates, Rebecca Olvet, Claire Grall and Madison Brown on the second day at Westerns!
Finishing off the weekend with the Mass Start Skate race, Michael Murdoch remained consistent with his 2nd place finishes and both Madison Brown and Chloe Heatherington managed to place top 10 in the Senior Women Category after a long race weekend. All race results can be found here.
