The season ended sooner than we had hoped. In an ideal world we would be at Nationals right now. In an ideal world we would still be skiing together as a team. In an ideal world we would still be able to meet up with friends face to face. The reality is none of this is possible due to COVID-19. However unfortunate the circumstances, we fully support Nordiq Canada’s decision to cancel Nationals, as hosting the event presents a health risk to the greater public.
We would like to thank all of our execs this season: Mykal Bakker-Westeinde, Claire Grall, Madison Brown, Wassim Ghazi and Alison Pouw. They all put in countless hours to ensure the UBC Nordies made it to races without too much stress.
Additional recognition goes out to our coach Chelsea Little, parent wax guru Brent Murdoch, The Hollyburn Ski Club, and to Cypress for their endless support of our team. Finally, thank you to our wonderful team and to everyone else that has helped us throughout the season.
