Looking for a challenge to motivate yourself to be more physically active? Look no further! UBC Recreation is challenging you to participate in our 7-Day Movement Challenge. For one week, from April 22nd to April 28th, we challenge you to commit to 20 minutes of movement each day. Complete 20-minutes of physical activity for all 7 days and you will receive a virtual medal to share on your social media channels and be entered to win a Move UBC prize set.
How do I participate?
There are two ways to participate in this challenge:
Social Media
- On April 22nd, check out the UBC Rec Instagram or Facebook story and screenshot the 7-Day Challenge graphic.
- We encourage you to upload your challenge graphic daily to your Instagram and/or Facebook story. Using the text tool on Instagram/Facebook, you can check the box and write down the activity that you did each day for 20 minutes. Make sure to tag @ubcrec in each upload.
- For submission when all 7-days are completed, you will upload your completed challenge graphic to your Instagram or Facebook story, tagging @ubcrec. UBC Recreation will send you back a digital medal. You will also be entered in a contest to win a active at home workout set (lululemon yoga mat and mat bag, as well as a Move UBC bag, water bottle, umbrella, exercise band, and towel). Challenge graphics should be uploaded by end of day on April 28th. UBC Recreation will be reposting your completed challenge graphic on our Instagram and Facebook story. If your account is private, please send your completed graphic through Instagram message or email it to physical.activity@ubc.ca.

- The challenge begins on April 22nd. For each day of that week that you complete 20 minutes of physical activity, check the box and write down the activity that you did.
- Once all 7-days are completed, you will send your completed challenge graphic to physical.activity@ubc.ca to be entered in a contest to win a active at home workout set (lululemon yoga mat and mat bag, as well as a Move UBC bag, water bottle, umbrella, exercise band, and towel). The deadline for submission of your challenge graphic is April 30th at 4pm.
Social Media
We encourage you to share how you are completing your 20-minutes of physical activity each day by sharing your activities on Instagram and Facebook. Please tag @ubcrec so we can repost your activities on our UBC Rec channels.

Who can participate?
We encourage everyone to participate! Students, staff, faculty, and community members of UBC are all invited to participate.
What can I win?
All participants that complete the full 7 days will receive a virtual medal as well as be automatically entered to win an active at home workout set including a lululemon yoga mat and mat bag, Move UBC bag, water bottle, umbrella, exercise band, and towel.
What type of physical activity will be accepted in the challenge?
Anything that gets your heart rate up! This includes, but is not limited to:
- Sports
- Yoga
- Pilates
- Aerobics
- Weightlifting
- Dance
- Walking
- Household chores (vacuuming, gardening, cleaning, grocery shopping)
