Fitness Equipment in Disguise

Even though gyms are open, you can still get an effective workout in the comfort of your own home. You may not have realized that you already have plenty of items lying around that can be used as gym equipment.

Instead of weights try…

  • Books
  • Water/ milk jugs
  • Backpack
  • Laundry detergent
  • Laundry basket
  • Canned goods
  • Sack of flour/ rice
  • Water bottle
  • Soup cans

These items can dub as kettlebells or dumbbells! A plethora of exercises can be done with this equipment from lateral raises with soup cans, to single armed rows with laundry detergent, or even weighted squats with a heavy backpack.

Instead of gliders try…

  • Socks
  • Paper plates
  • Towels
  • Kitchen cloths

These are great for various core exercises, unilateral leg work, and much more. Just don’t slip!

Instead of resistance bands try…

  • Rope
  • T-shirt
  • Towel

This may not seem as intuitive as the others but try pulling it taught between your hands for a DIY band to create resistance for your workouts.

Other things to try…
