As of September 23, we are temporarily suspending the sales of all memberships that include fitness centre access due to COVID-19 related capacity limits. Single session reservations will also be unavailable during this time. This pause ensures all persons who have already purchased a membership will have access to the fitness centres. UBC Recreation will continue to monitor the use of the fitness centres and re-assess the availability of fitness centre memberships in the coming weeks.
Staff & Faculty and Public Members with an expiring membership will be provided an opportunity to manually renew their membership by emailing src.operations@ubc.ca.
Alternative options to be active remain available through our fitness class offerings for Yoga, Pilates, Boot Camps, and Spin:
- UBC Student Fitness & Classes Membership
- Non-student 5 visit punch pass (valid only for Fitness & Classes)
- Registration-based activities (Dance, Martial Arts, Strength Training)
All decisions are based on our COVID-19 safety protocols, and to ensure that customers have an equal and fair opportunity when registering for fitness centre timeslots.
