In-Person Offerings:
Length Swim, Community, and Aqua Fitness - Free for Students
- The UBC Aquatic Centre offers length swim for lane swimming, community swim for free swim in the pool, and Aqua Fitness classes to help keep you fit! All free for students.
Youth Swim Lessons | Youth Private Lessons
- The UBC Aquatic Centre offers swim lessons for ages 3 - 14, for all levels and abilities. Whether there new to swimming or looking to brush up on their backstroke, we have something to offer!
Certifications
- The UBC Aquatic Centre offers a wide variety of certifications. If you are looking to become a lifeguard, get certified/recertified for First Aid & CPR, or just looking to learn, there is something for everyone!
Fitness Centres - ARC & BirdCoop
- Get moving throughout the day by visiting one of our two fitness centres with over 16,000 sq. ft of equipment!
Fitness Classes Memberships & Registration Based Classes
- UBC Recreation offers a wide variety of fitness classes that feature high-energy music and a social atmosphere that are a great way to change up your routine, or continue in a sport that you are passionate about.
Personal Training - Special Offers for Students
- Whether you are new to fitness, looking for a specialized program, or an experienced athlete, our friendly and personable trainers can help you reach your full potential – whatever your goals might be!
Women's Only Fitness Times - Every Tuesday & Friday
- Enjoy private studio times, access to equipment, and the supervision of friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Adult Lessons
- A fun approach to learning to skate, designed for adults with varying experience from beginner to experience! Our experienced instructors will teach different skating techniques tailored to your skating needs.
Youth Lessons
- We offer a wide variety of youth ice lessons for all levels and abilities! Whether there new to the ice or looking to brush up on their skills, we have something to offer!
Private & Semi-Private Lessons
- We offer private and semi-private training for youth and adults with our main purpose to work on your desired developmental needs! Each lesson is one hour in length.
Intramurals Leagues - Register for Free Throughout the Term
- Intramurals In-Person League Contests are a great way to stay engaged with your sport of choice, keep your skills sharp, and stay connected to the UBC Sports Community! These league contest are FREE and are offered in Ice Hockey, Basketball, Soccer and Futsal.
Wellbeing Walks - Every Thursday at 11:30am
- Meet at Orchard Commons and our Move U Crew will take you on a guided walk! Walks are free and open to everyone.
Court Bookings
- The UBC Tennis Centre is a public tennis facility and no membership is required to book a court. You can book a court up to 24 hours in advance for a standard booking!
Adult Lessons | Youth Lessons
- The UBC Tennis Centre offers a wide variety of tennis lessons for all levels and abilities! Whether you're new to tennis or looking to brush up on that bachand, we have something for you!

Get Active At Home - Free Fitness Classes
- As part of Active at Home, we offer a variety of free virtual fitness classes facilitated by a UBC Recreation Instructor. Check out our previous recorded classes as well!
eSport League - Register by October 15
- Take those dorm-room, rental-house, and neighborhood games to the next level and compete against UBC affiliated people from all over the world in either FIFA, NHL, or Rocket League!
Virtual Run/Roll/Walk - Free Registration
- No matter where your start line may be, this fun and engaging series has something for everyone! Complete weekly challenges over the course of 10 weeks to be entered in the weekly draw for unique and fun prizes.
Challenge Series - Free Challenges Released every Monday
- This unique program has something for everyone – from virtual runs, to trivia contests, baking challenges, and trick shots, there is something for everyone!
Get Active At Home - Free Resources
- Get Active at Home is a platform with a variety of free resources to help you thrive while studying from home, including virtual fitness classes, live movement breaks and monthly fitness challenges.
UBC Lunch + Lift Workshop - Register by October 20
- Lunch & Lift is a series of free 2-in-1 interactive wellbeing workshops consisting of a 30-minute movement class, followed by a 30-minute interactive wellbeing session facilitated by a UBC wellbeing professional.
