Run/Roll/Walk Series Blog – Week 5!

Welcome to the Run/Roll/Walk Series blog! Last week, we challenged you to throw on those running shoes once again and walk or run through the lush greens. If the challenge inspired you to keep on trail running and want some ideas for more trails, check out some of our favorite runs from last week in the photos below!

For me, trail running has always been an escape. It’s a great change of pace from sitting at a desk as we work from home all day. I always lose myself when I’m surrounded by nature. The enormous trees, the beautiful leaves, the smell of the dirt, and the small ponds fraught with life. I love the feeling of freedom and wildness, brought by mother nature unsullied by concrete. The kilometers really seem to fly by when you just plug in some music and take in nature on the trail.

To be honest, I haven’t always been a fan of trail running…or even running in general! It was really tough at the start to get myself to run. So often, life gets in the way. Sometimes it’s family, or work, or just pure fatigue, and sometimes laziness just wins. It wasn’t always easy to put all that aside, but more often than not, I found that it was worth it. Although running and getting your body moving through those trails might be hard, if you can muster up the will to put on those shoes, tie those laces, and step out into the cold, everything else seems a lot easier!
