Recorded Virtual Fitness Classes

UBC Recreation is offering ways to thrive from the comfort of your own space. Working and studying from home can make reducing your sedentary behaviour slightly challenging. The good news is, small changes can have a big impact when it comes to reducing sedentary behaviour and increasing physical activity.

Check out our recorded fitness classes to help get you moving from wherever you are. There is a large variety of classes taught by UBC instructors to pick from. Try one, or try them all!

Virtual Fitness Classes

Muay Thai focuses more on the martial art and is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins, and feet to strike. 

 

Kickboxing combines the best Martial Arts from around the world! This class will train feet, hands, knees, and elbows, as well as kickboxing-specific conditioning.

Kickboxing barre is a total body workout that incorporates the fundamentals of barre with aerobics, resistance training and classic kickboxing technique.

 

Dance Fit, led by instructor Sophie Wensel, is a mix of cardio and strength training which gives you a lean, sculpting workout and develops balance, strength, and flexibility.

This is a glute and thigh strengthening bootcamp to get you off your seat led by one of our personal trainers, Jennifer. Get your heart rate up and break a sweat by finishing off with HITT.

 

A cut-to-the-chase workout blending intervals of cardio, strength, and core/stretch using free weights or equivalent or bodyweight. Joanne's 45 minute home workout is for all levels!

 

Pixie will take you through a moderate full-body workout that effectively improves cardio, strength, and muscular endurance.

Pilates is designed to stretch and strengthen the muscles, creating a toned and lean look. Pilates improves posture, flexibility and balance. Core exercises are emphasized!

 

The poses used in Hatha and Flow Yoga are similar to those in Vinyasa, but transitions between poses are slower-paced, providing more opportunity to focus on alignment and form.

 

Have you been working from home? This is a perfect 20 minute movement & mobility session for the home office body! All you need is yourself and maybe a wall/chair for balance support.

K-Pop contains elements of western pop, dance, electronic, R&B and hip-hop set to Korean Pop music.
