Although our season so far has looked very different due to COVID-19, UBC TSC Artistic Swimming has had a good semester! Our executive team started off the season by recruiting at the Jumpstart Resource Fair and at Imagine Day. UBC Artistic Swimming also celebrated their coaches Jordan and Christina for national coaches week in September to show our appreciation for their dedication and hard work.
The exec worked extremely hard all through September and October to create a COVID safety plan to get our athletes back to training. They also hosted socials and icebreakers over zoom so the athletes could get to know each other. Once the COVID safety plan was approved we finally had our first in person practice of the season on November 9th! Unfortunately our training got cut short due to new COVID restrictions however, are staying optimistic that we will be able to return to training in the new year!
What can we look forward to in 2021? UBC Artistic Swimming will also be competing at CUASL Nationals virtually over zoom in March. The exec is also planning some exciting fundraisers and zoom socials! Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to stay up to date on events and fundraisers coming up in the new year!
