Run Roll Walk – Week 4 Challenge

Welcome to week 4 of Run Roll Walk! This week’s theme is Yoga/Pilates. Our past few challenges emphasized on endurance and cardiovascular activities.  For this week’s challenge, we want you to take a pause and a matt to focus on diaphragmatic breathing, or breathing deep into the belly. Both yoga and Pilates require mental focus and have meditative properties that could help you reduce stress. One of my personal favourite style of yoga is Power yoga-a vigorous, fitness-based approach to vinyasa-style yoga. We understand that signing up for a class can be risky during this time, which is why I suggest signing up for live online classes or recorded exercises that you can practice safely at the comfort of your home.

WEEK 4 CHALLENGE: Carry out a session of Yoga or Pilates

Complete the following this week (FEB 8 – 14):

  • Participate in a session of yoga or Pilates
  • There are great informational videos available on YouTube that require only a matt and a stable internet connection
  • Did I mention Yoga Rave is also live and free to join on Feb 11th?

  1. You must be registered in RRW to be eligible for prizing. It’s free to join!
  2. Participants with Public Accounts on Strava and are in the UBC Recreation Strava Club, will re-name their activity “RRW Week # Challenge” (ex. RRW Week 1 Challenge)
  3. Comment that you completed this week’s challenge on the UBC Recreation challenge post for that week
  4. Participants with Private Accounts or using another running app, can email screenshots of their activities to with the email subject line as “RRW Week # Challenge Submission – Full Name” (RRW Week 1 Challenge Submission – John Doe)
  5. Winners will be announced the following week and virtual gift cards will be emailed to you.
