The 4 Best Walks at UBC — Sunday Strolls with the Move U Crew

Welcome to Sunday Strolls with the Move U Crew! My name is Ben, am I will show you the best places to walk around campus! If you missed it, I had an opportunity to make some Instagram Reels this year! As a runner, walker, or stroller, I had to show you my favourite walks on the UBC Vancouver campus!

1. Cecil Green

In January, I showed you Cecil Green house—one of UBC’s hidden gems! Starting from the UBC Bus Loop, head north. For me, the easiest way north is via east mall—head towards the AMS Nest or Irving K Barber Library! Along North Marine Drive, find Cecil Green Park Road! When you find the Blue sign with ‘Cecil Green House’, head right, then left, and enjoy!

2. The Museum of Anthropology

In February, we checked out the Museum of Anthropology! However, a lot of folks don’t know about the north side of the museum! On the way there, I spoke about the importance of the land we reside on: UBC is situated on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Musqueam people. Not sure what this means, learn more here!

From the bus loop, take the same route as Cecil Green northbound! When we get to North Marine Drive, we will instead head to MOA! When at the front entrance, head around the building on the left side!

3. Pacific Spirit Park

Check out the Instagram Reel here!

In March, we checked out Pacific Spirit park! As the park is huge, I took you on my favourite trail! Starting from the bus loop, head north on Wesbrook Mall. When you get to North Marine Drive, take a right east on Chancellor Boulevard. You will continue for a while until you get to a traffic light at Hamber Road—head right into the forest! Along the path, keep straight the entire way! You will soon exit the trail at University Boulevard!
