Want to get active but not sure where to start? GoByBike is here to help you get started! Here is everything you need to know about UBC Recreation’s GoByBike 1-week Challenge.
What is GoByBike?
GoByBike challenges participants to ride their bikes to school, to work, or for fun in between classes on campus for one week (September 27-October 3). After registering for free, participants will be prompted to download the Strava app and record their biking activities. For each activity you have completed, you will gain one entry for a prize draw for either a Fitbit or lululemon yoga mat!
Who can join?
Registration is free and open to UBC Students, Staff and Faculty! You are welcome to participate anytime during the week of September 27-October 3; but the more you ride your bike, the more chances you have to win!
How GoByBike works and How to Submit Entries:
- Download Strava and join UBC Recreation Club
- Record your activity on Strava every time you bike. If you do not want to use Strava, feel free to use your own cycling tracker app, the HUB Cycling Dashboard, or simply make a note of how long and when you rode.
- For each completed activity, participants with PUBLIC ACCOUNTS on Strava and are in the UBC Recreation Strava Club, will re-name their activity “GBB 1-week Challenge D #” (Example, GBB 1-week Challenge Day 1)
- Participants with PRIVATE ACCOUNTS or no Strava account can email screenshots/notes of their activities to physical.activity@ubc.ca with the email subject line as “GBB 1-week Challenge Submission- Full Name”.
- Each submission or activity completed will be one entry into a prize draw for either a Fitbit or lululemon yoga mat!
So what are you waiting for? Come join us and let’s enjoy the fun of biking! For any questions, reach out to physical.activity@ubc.ca
