Are you someone who is interested in learning more about how you can foster inclusivity in your environments and build stronger relationships with Indigenous communities? As part of Move UBC, we are hosting a one-day (8 hour) workshop titled “Aboriginal Coaching Module (ACM)” in partnership with the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council (ISPARC) on February 23rd, 2022!
As members of the UBC community who coach, instruct and teach on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Musqueam people, it is extremely important that we take an approach that reflects and respects Indigenous values and lifestyles while doing so.
We will be discussing the following topics:
- Module 1: Holistic Approach to Coaching
- Module 2: Dealing with Racism in Sport
- Module 3: Individual and Community Health and Wellness
Who?
- Anyone who is interested in learning about how to coach, instruct, teach, or professionally engage with Indigenous participants

The module is a part of the coaching curriculum, but is relevant for recreation programmers, group fitness instructors, camp leaders, and anyone who facilitates physical activity programming.
