I would like to welcome you to the first edition of Shakes W/Abishek. Come join me every month as we try a new smoothie or shake recipe that not only fuels our bodies but helps us get moving and grooving!
This month we are going to try a Strawberry-Banana Tofu Smoothie recipe inspired by my mom. This vegan smoothie is rich in antioxidants, fibres, and vitamins. The tofu is also a great source of complete protein. This smoothie is versatile and can be paired well with any occasion. It is also an amazing post-workout smoothie that you can optionally pair with protein powder to help energize your body!
Ingredients:
- ½ Cup – Strawberries (Fresh or Frozen)
- 1 – Banana (Fresh or Frozen)
- ⅓ Cup – Raw Tofu
- 1 ½ Cup – Pineapple Juice
- Optional – 1 Cup – Protein Powder
Equipment Needed:
- Blender
- Knife
- Cutting Board
- Cup
- Optional – Straw
How to Prep:
-
- Cut up your banana and ½ cup of strawberries on your cutting board and place them in your blender.
- Carefully measure ⅓ cup of your tofu and then place it in your blender.
- Pour your 1 ½ cups of pineapple juice into your blender.
- Blend all your ingredients for approximately 15 to 25 seconds. If your blender has a “smoothie” option that will do the job as well.
- After you are done blending, pour your smoothie into your cup and enjoy!
- Optional – Feel free to add one cup of a protein powder of your choice, I recommend vanilla, to your blender.
This is a quick, easy and nutritious smoothie recipe that you definitely need to try out! Try it and let us know what you think! See you next month for Shakes W/Abishek!
