After a long two-year hiatus from competition, the Thunderbirds came back in style as they finished 5th overall after being ranked 10th place going into the tournament. The Thunderbirds flexed their speed and depth, as everyone contributed to their success in their 2022 college season debut. After pool play on Saturday, the Thunderbirds finished second in their pool losing only one tight game to Carleton in pool play. On Sunday, after a tough loss to the number one seed in the quarterfinals, they came back and won the next two games and won their rematch against Carleton 15-13.
The Thunderbird rookies stood out this weekend and showed their prowess and composure competing against the tough college competition. UBC has shown that they are ready to come back firing this season and are excited for the next competitions.
