UBC Aquatic Centre Reopens May 2

The UBC Aquatic Centre Annual Preventative Maintenance Closure (APMC) has allowed facility staff, trades, contractors to perform important work on the building and aquatic systems. We look forward to having you back in the space to enjoy the amenities as of Monday, May 2 with pre-registered sessions as early as 6:30am.

Reminder that session registration opens 50 hours prior to the start of the session, and members are limited to one booking per 24-hour period. Be sure to visit the facility schedule before you plan your next visit!

Upcoming Programming Changes

With the recently announced easing of COVID-19 restrictions, UBC Recreation is excited to share how things will change at the UBC Aquatic Centre. Effective Monday, May 2:

  • Re-introduction of drop-in swim sessions.
  • Online withdrawal is available for length swim sessions, and must be done one hour in advance of the session start time.

  • Rental and Day Use Lockers are available.
  • Spectators are allowed (from designated off-deck viewing areas only).
  • Food, beverage and merchandise sales resume.
  • 1-month membership sales resume.

Please note that the following restrictions will remain in place:

  • Face masks are required when not swimming or in the water.
  • Water fountains will remain water filling stations only.

During this transition period, we ask that you continue to respect the varying levels of personal comfort around the easing of COVID precautions.


Road Closures & Construction Information:

Please note access to the North Parkade and University Boulevard Lot require detours. We encourage all patrons to check the construction and road closures map prior to any visit.
