Sun’s out… Fun’s out! Time to hit the beaches and make a splash this summer at Vancouver’s plethora of beautiful beaches. Grab a good book, interesting podcast or best buddies and have a beach day filled with good vibes. Looking to elevate your beach itinerary? Consider bringing some games to play like frisbee, spike ball and beach volleyball: playing is one of the best ways to move your body and enjoy yourself during the summer months. Plus, some of the beaches offer nature’s best StairMaster which guarantees to get that heart pumping!
Oasis Beach
Foreshore Trail, Vancouver, BC V6T 1A7
Close to the UBC Botanical Gardens, Greenheart TreeWalk, and Foreshore Trail, there is plenty of outdoor adventure to be had right here on the UBC Campus! Perfect for the final destination on a summery day, or keep walking north along the shore and you’ll find yourself at…
Wreck Beach
SW Marine Drive
With a whopping 4.7 stars on google, understandably it is UBC’s most iconic beach. The perfect place to watch the sunset with friends and get your daily dose of exercise while climbing 490 steps!
Tower Beach
NW Marine Drive
The trail 3 head descends down a gorgeous set of 394 steps. I know, more steps! I was intimidated but quickly relieved as the huge ferns and trees are distracting in the best way possible which made for a pleasant walk.
Acadia Beach
NW Marine Dr, Vancouver, BC V6T 1X8
This small stony beach is a wonderful place to sit and listen to the waves for a mindful activity. The nice thing about these beaches is that they are more or less connected so, in theory, you could visit all these in one day!
Notable Mentions
Near UBC are some more stellar beaches such as Spanish Banks Beach, Jericho Beach, and Kitsilano Beach. These are great for making the most of those beautiful Vancouver summer days!
