Shakes W/Abishek – Green Machine Smoothie!

Hey UBC,

Welcome back to the third edition of Shakes W/Abishek. Come join me every month as we try a new smoothie or shake recipe that not only fuels our bodies but helps us get moving and grooving!

This month we are going to try a Green Machine Smoothie recipe. This green smoothie is rich in antioxidants, fibres, and vitamins. Spinach is also a great source of iron. This smoothie is versatile and can be paired well with any occasion. It is also an amazing post-workout smoothie that you can optionally pair with protein powder or chia seeds to help energize your body!

  • Optional – 1 Cup – Protein Powder

Equipment Needed:

  • Blender
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Cup
  • Optional – Straw

How to Prep:

    1. Cut up your banana, apple, and avocado on your cutting board and measure out 2 cups of spinach and place them in your blender.
    2. Pour 1 ½  cups of Unsweetened or Vanilla, Almond/Soy Milk into your blender.
    3. Blend all your ingredients for approximately 15 to 25 seconds. If your blender has a “smoothie” option that will do the job as well.
    4. After you are done blending, pour your smoothie into your cup and enjoy!
  • Optional – Feel free to add one cup of a protein powder of your choice, I recommend vanilla or chia seeds to your blender.
