Terms to Know

Be sure to familiarize yourself with the commonly used terms to help guide you through the registration process:

  • Captain: each team will designate one individual as the “captain” to register the team.
  • Team Registration: for individuals who have formed a team (note: the team registration fee is for the whole team).
  • Free Agent: for individuals who have not formed a team, but would like to be matched with players of similar skill levels to form a team (note: the Free Agent registration fee is for the individual spot).

How to Form a Team

If you don’t have a team, you can register as a Free Agent, form a team through our UBC Intramurals Free Agent Facebook Group, or attend the Free Agent Meeting on September 15, 2022. To learn more, visit here.


How to Register for an Intramural Program

Follow the steps below to learn how to register for an Intramural program as a Free Agent or for your team. When registering for an Intramural league, please take note of the registration times:

  • Team registration for Intramural leagues opens August 10, and closes September 19, 2022
  • Free Agent registration for Intramural leagues opens September 16, and closes September 19, 2022
    • Please note that there will be a limited number of Free Agent spots available at the time of registration, we encourage you to form a team or attend the Free Agent Meeting to secure a spot. 

Follow the steps below to register your team:

  1. Find a group of people to form a team, and choose what team structure and tier (level of play) you would like to participate in.
  2. Decide on a captain for the team (only the captain needs to register for the team).
  3. The captain can then register the team by following the registration links on the desired event or league webpage.
    • Please ensure all your contact information is correct and up to date.
  4. Once successfully registered, the captain will receive a confirmation ticket from communication@perfectmind.com.
  5. The captain will start receiving email communications regarding next steps for the team (i.e. roster submission, days of play, and rules and regulations).

Follow the steps below to register as a Free Agent:

  1. Decide what team structure  and tier (level of play) you would like to participate in.
  2. Register by following the registration links on the desired event or league webpage.
    • Please ensure all your contact information is correct and up to date.
  3. Once successfully registered, the captain will receive a confirmation ticket from communication@perfectmind.com.
  4. Once registered you will start receiving email communications regarding next steps (i.e. roster submission, days of play, and rules and regulations).

Due to the high interest in Intramural programs, some events and leagues will sell out before the registration deadline. When registering for the waitlist, the following will occur:

  1. Once you have registered for the waitlist,  you will receive a confirmation ticket from communication@perfectmind.com
  2. If successfully moved off the waitlist, your payment will be processed and you will receive an email from intramurals.info@ubc.ca confirming you are now on a team with the next steps (payment will only be processed if moved off the waitlist).

When registering on the waitlist for an Intramural league, you will only be contacted if you are moved off the waitlist. Free Agents and teams can be moved off the waitlist up until roster deadline (October 7, 2022).

Day of the LongBoat is back!

Join us on October 1 - 2, to participate in one of UBC's most iconic tradition. This signature UBC event takes place on the shores of Jericho Beach, for the largest voyageur canoe race in the world. Your team races in either just-for-fun or competitive heats to the finish line.
