ARC Fitness Centre Closure | Nov 10 – 13

Due to REC North construction, no heat and water will be running in the Life Building from Thursday, November 10, 2022 to Sunday, November 13, 2022. As a results, the ARC Fitness Centre will be closed during this time, and will re-open as normal on Monday, November 14, 2022.

What to expect during the ARC closure:

  • No ARC Fitness Centre access
  • If your locker is in the ARC, you will not be able to access it
  • No Women’s (Trans Welcome) & W2STGD Fitness Hours
  • Personal training sessions will move to the BirdCoop (patrons will be contacted directly if applicable)
  • No drop-in Fitness Classes that operate out of the ARC will be available
  • Registered Fitness Classes that operate out of the ARC will be moved to the BirdCoop or rescheduled for a later date (participants will be notified if applicable)

Stay active with UBC Recreation!

All other activities that don’t take place in the Life Building/ARC Facilities will proceed as normal. We encourage patrons to explore other fitness opportunities during the closure to stay active:

  • Visit the BirdCoop Fitness Centre at the SRC.
  • Group Fitness Classes at the SRC: includes Boot Camps, Group Fitness, Spin & Cycle, and Yoga & Pilates.
  • Drop-In Sports at the SRC: include regular sessions of volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis and more.
  • Drop-In Hockey & Skating: public skating, figure skating, and ice hockey are available at various times throughout the day.
  • Drop-In Swimming: cool off at the Aquatic Centre with a variety of activities ranging from lane swimming to aqua fitness.
  • Moves on MacInnes: rent free sports and activity equipment from the SRC front desk to use on MacInnes Field.
