2022 Lazer Canadian Championships Cyclocross | Victoria, BC | November 27
Canada’s best Cyclocross (CX) riders were invited Victoria, British Columbia to compete in the 2022 Lazer Cyclocross Nationals for the first National CX Championship since 2019. From UBC, athletes Kolby Mullen and Helena Sverak qualified for this competition as they earned Elite status from finishes throughout the CX season. Despite big finishes in the CX season, Helena Sverak did not participate in the race as she continues to recover from her hand injury sustained in October.
Rainy weather set the tone for a muddy race on the Sunday afternoon. Sunday’s race was the first National Championship in two years and the talent pool of riders was unknown to those racing. Amongst Canada’s finest CX riders, Kolby Mullen placed 19th in the Elite Men’s category. Well done Kolby! Find out more results and read more about CX Nationals here.
Stay tuned for this weekend as our Quidditch SC heads to Nationals in Edmonton, AB on December 2nd to compete against Canada’s best teams.
