This weekend saw UBC Nordic Skiing SC compete in their first race of the season, which also marked the first TSC competition of the 2023 calendar year! Read below to see how they did and what they had to say about the competition!
Teck BC Cup #1: January 8th-9th 2023, Whistler Olympic Park
UBC Nordic had a spectacular debut at BC Cup #1 in Whistler – what a way to start off the season! In the classic sprint on Saturday, Maggie Beckner, Claire Sylvestre-Baron, Tristan Lee, and Reese Critchlow had a strong showing in the heats, all finishing within the top 5 of their categories. In the skate distance on Sunday, Matthew pulled off a 7th place in U20 men, while Anna Chatterton and Paige Saravanamutto’s beautiful technique landed them in 3rd and 4th in U20 women. Maggie and Claire also blew away the competition on Sunday, finishing 2nd and 3rd in U23 women. These great results have the team ready to go for BC Cup #2 in Revelstoke in February for the 2nd of 3 BC Cup races this season.

- Isaac Lowenthal Walsh and Reese finishing 3rd and 4th in U23 men.
