The Intramural Media & Digital Content Teams create content that reaches all corners of campus promoting participation, engagement, and registration in Intramural Events and Leagues programming. Using a multitude of mediums, the team curates innovative ideas, strategies, and promotional initiatives that capture the unique experience of Intramurals within the UBC community.
Being an engaging, creative and innovative community is the core strength of Intramural Media, and each year this team turns a portion of its work inward to document, build and inspire an everlasting community for staff and Intramural alumni. The Media team is the most technically advanced, and expansive staff – they see and do it all!
Digital Content (Leagues & Events):
Both the DC-Leagues & DC-Events teams are focused on the creation of digital promotional content driving awareness and registration for all Intramural programming. Through captivating story telling as well as visual and interactive content, both Digital Content Teams work in a dynamic and ever-changing space.

Supported by the Intramural professional staff, all student staff are highly encouraged to be creative in their execution & development of their role, and trusted fully with the below responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Contribute to the creation of strategic digital marketing plans to promote registration and participation in all Intramural Event and League Programs
- Social media content, promotional videos, blog posts, infographics
- Assist with paid social media content Facebook & Instagram ads
- Management of the Intramural online content calendar
- Management of Social Media platforms
- Organize and manage content for the Intramurals program
- Assist in maintaining a regular schedule for content for UBC Recreation's online channels including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram & TikTok
- 24/25 UBC Student - required (Sep-Mar)
- Enthusiastic, organized, and responsible
- Willingness to learn and teach others
- No sport knowledge or experience necessary
- Previous experiences ~ Asset:
- Microsoft Office, working with Social Media platforms, HTML or WordPress, video creation (any platform), coordinating or supporting on social media campaigns or other marketing campaigns, social media advertising
- Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification ~ Asset
By April 2025, staff will have gained:
- Strong community of creatively-minded peers, who collaborate to learn new skills and experiment with different creative techniques
- Experience working with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram & TikTok accounts for business
- Effective blog post writing and experience with WordPress
- Creating captivating promotional content for social media
- Coordinating digital marketing campaigns
- Performance assessment and goal setting
- Community engagement and promotional skills
Media (Photography/Videography):
The Intramural Media (Photography/Videography) Team is focused on capturing and producing high-quality visual imagery (photo/video) in both a promotional and documentation lens. The Media Team is a highly creative and highly respected team responsible for the documentation of the Intramural Student Staff experience. Staff are strongly encouraged to bring their creative ideas into the team's projects.

Supported by the Intramural professional staff, all student staff are highly encouraged to be creative in their execution & development of their role, and trusted fully with the below responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Develop and create content capturing and supporting the Student Staff experience
- Documentation of Intramural Programming across both League Sports and Events.
- Contribute and work with other members of the Media Department to ensure coverage of all Intramurals programs
- Support and contribute to the creation of regular, relevant content for Intramurals publications managed by the Digital Marketing Team
- Lead & contribute to collaborative cross-team media projects
- 24/25 UBC Student - required (Sep-Mar)
- Previous experiences ~ Asset:
- Photography & Videography
- Adobe Creative Studio (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, Audition, After Effects)
- A strong willingness to be active in a highly creative, innovative and dynamic work space
- Willingness to learn and teach others
- Ability to work individually and in a large team environment
- Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification ~ Asset
By April 2025, staff will have gained:
- Strong community of creatively-minded peers, who collaborate to learn new skills and experiment with different creative and technical initiative
- Creative project design including storyboarding, sound & audio, film & photography techniques
- Experience with project planning including story-boarding and production
- Performance assessment and goal setting
