Jason McManus
After 16 years as the Intramural Program Manager, Jason will officially be stepping down as of August 31, 2023. He will not be going far, as he has accepted a new role in Athletics & Recreation as the Senior Manager, Safety & Risk Mitigation.
Words cannot express how vital Jason has been to the whole Intramural program throughout his time in this position, and while we will miss him fiercely on this team, we could not be happier for him in this new adventure. We look forward to continuing to work closely with him in his new role.
“To say that the Intramural Program has been important to me is a categorically wild understatement. Making the decision to step away is one of the hardest decisions I have made in my professional career and it would take a mountain of text to thank and share with everyone the impacts of nearly 23 years in being part of the Intramural family.
To everyone who has trusted my guidance, listened to my stories, shared laughs, tears, hugs, and high-fives, voiced opinions and passions, stayed up all night to eat Denny’s, watched the sunrise with me, or simply just let me be included as part of your life while at UBC, I could never thank you enough.
I have been impacted by all of you more than words or time could ever express.
~ Love you all ~ Jmac”
We intend to put something together to celebrate Jmac and all he has contributed over the years – more details to come here.
Recruitment will begin for the Intramural Program Manager position on Tuesday April 25, and it will be posted here. If you have any questions, please contact Jason or Mike Tan, Director of Recreation & Intramurals directly.
