The UBC Aquatic Centre is excited to introduce two new swim times! Join us for Sensory Sensitive Swim on Wednesday mornings and Two-Spirit, Trans, Non-Binary (2STNB) Swim on Friday evenings.
Sensory Sensitive Swim Time:
When: Every Wednesday morning from 9:00-10:15am (Pre-Registration Required)
What to Expect:
- Inclusivity for All: This session is open to individuals of all ages and abilities.
- Calming Atmosphere: We lower the blinds on the south side of the building to create a serene ambiance.
- Reduced Capacity: We limit the number of participants to ensure a spacious and comfortable swim.
- Silence is Golden: No PA announcements, whistles, or music during this time.
Important Note: To maintain the integrity of the program, we kindly request that guests arrive at the start time of the session. Early entries will not be permitted.
Two-Spirit, Trans, Non-Binary (2STNB) Swim Time:
When: Every Friday evening from 8:15-9:30pm
What to Expect:
- For the 2STNB: This swim session is dedicated to individuals who identify as two-spirit, trans, and non-binary, regardless of age or swimming ability.
- Multiple Pools: Both the Competition 50m and Leisure pool are available during this session, offering a variety of options for lane swimming and open swim.
- Inclusive Environment: Blinds are lowered on the south side of the building, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
- Join the Celebration: Come as you are and enjoy the company of like-minded individuals in a supportive and understanding community.
- 2SLGBTQA+ Rental Group: During this swim time, the facility will also host a rental group specifically for individuals who identify within the 2SLGBTQA+ community.
