Fall is well underway! This October, UBC Rec is offering everything you need to stay balanced throughout the midterm season.

Physical Activity Programs

Thanksgiving Holiday Hours

UBC Recreation’s Sports Facilities will have adjusted hours for the Thanksgiving Long Weekend.

Wellbeing Walks

Oct 11 & 25

Join us for 2 of our wellbeing walks this month, hosted by the Move U Crew! Enjoy oceanside scenery during the Tower Beach Walk and take a relaxing nature break in UBC’s authentic Japanese Garden during the Nitobe Garden Tour.

Water Wars

UBC Aquatic Centre | Oct 12

Escape the cold for a fun-filled night inside the warmth of the UBC Aquatics Centre. Grab your pals and compete in a variety of challenges, including inner tube water polo! Register by Oct 10 to secure your spot.

Intramural Events & Leagues Registration Opens

Winter is coming! Get a head start on planning your social calendar by looking ahead to our Term 2 Intramural Events. We are also offering numerous adult leagues this fall, including our new additions: pickleball and badminton. Please note that our intramural leagues sell out fast – be sure to secure your spot!

World Restart A Heart Event

UBC Recreation has collaborated with Heart and Stroke Canada and the AMS Heart and Stroke Club to create the ‘World Restart A Heart’ event. In this free event, you can choose from a variety of time slots and arrive reading to learn the basics of hands-only CPR and other emergency services.

Lunch + Lift

Oct 17

Lunch + Lift is a 2-in-1 interactive wellbeing workshop that consists of a 30-minute movement class followed by a 30-minute information session led by a UBC wellbeing professional. This month’s Lunch + Lift session covers the topic of commuting to UBC’s campus via bike.

Great Trek

Oct 28

Calling all runners! Embark on the Great Trek this fall. The race course spans either 5, 10, or 21.1 kilometers across the beautiful UBC campus, located on Musqueam Territory.
