Cycling
This weekend the Cycling team raced the Aldergrove Long Road Race! Notable rides go to Sophie MacDonald (3rd – Cat 1), Cole Gar-Aouy (1st – Cat 4), and Jonah King (1st – Cat 5). Congrats to everyone who raced!
Men’s Ultimate
The T-Birds headed down to Northwest Challenge this weekend in Seattle, Washington. This tournament was packed with high-ranked teams, and the boys could not have been more excited. The first day started in the pouring rain against the top-ranked school in the country: Cal Poly Slo. The game began well with multiple breaks from both teams, but Slo Core took the lead and held on for the rest of the day. The boys finished the day 2-1, beating Utah and Western Washington to secure their spot in the quarter-finals against Carleton Cut.
The T-Birds were thrilled to play against an Eastern team, and it showed as they tied up the game at 12, but Cut ultimately took the lead and won 15-13. Following the devastating loss and the sun coming out, the boys played two more games against UCLA and California. They ended up beating UCLA but losing to Cal in the 5th place finals. Finishing the tournament in 6th place meant that the boys broke seed, as they were initially seeded 9th in the tournament.
With the regular season all wrapped up, the T-Birds are ready to get back to the grind to secure a spot at Nationals in May.
