TSC Weekend Round Up: May 3-5

May 3-5, 2024 – The UBC Men’s and Women’s Ultimate Teams competed in USAU Regionals, and the Cycling Team raced in the Tour de Bloom. Read about all their successes and memorable tales below!

Cycling

UBC Cycling sent 8 riders to Wenatchee, Washington for the Tour de Bloom, the northwest’s premier 4-day stage race. Congrats to all riders on a great weekend of racing!

Men’s Ultimate

The TBirds battled hard but fell just short of qualifying for USAU Nationals, losing in the semi-final to Oregon State University. The team is looking forward to building on these results next season!

Women’s Ultimate

The Birdies drove down to Burlington for Regionals on the weekend of May 4/5. Although wanting to come out firing, the team played a back-and-forth game against Western Washington, just falling short of the win. The frustration that followed fueled the Birds as they came together and fought back against the personal and team challenges. Scoring 26-2 during the rest of Day 1, playing Utah and Victoria, showed that UBC was there to take care of business; the Birdies embodied resilience and teamwork. On Day 2, the team kept their foot on the gas pedal as they achieved wins against Washington and Oregon to win the Northwest Region. The Birdies will play local Vancouver club team Traffic in a showcase game on May 18 at Thunderbird Stadium as a final warm up for the National Championship that takes place May 24-27 in Madison, Wisconsin.

Tickets for the Showcase game can be purchased here.
