Late May means it’s time for spring graduation at UBC, which also means it’s a time filled with strong emotions because we’re moving on, saying goodbye, and preparing for the next chapter in life.
Along these lines, the Season 2 Finale of Moves with the Move U Crew podcast has come to a close for another season. If you’re feeling sentimental like me (Chelsea, who is behind the microphone for one last time), this 8-minute episode is for you if you are in search of some relaxation and comfort from the emotions that come with big life transitions. Chelsea guides you through progressive muscle relaxation exercises, which have been shown to decrease anxiety, depression, and stress levels in the body (Toussaint et al., 2021). One exercise will engage your smiling muscles, which also will provide you the added effect of naturally improving your mood (Coles et al., 2022).
